Third edition of Special Days

Companies in the LVMH group have announced the third edition of the Special Days event. It will take place on 20, 21 and 22 May and will give the public a chance to discover the exceptional expertise of the group’s production sites.

The two previous editions proved extremely popular, with visitor numbers in excess of 100,000. Twenty-five sites in France and Europe opened their doors in 2011, with almost twice that number following suite in 2013.

This year, nearly 40 firms will be opening - in total, more than 50 prestigious sites, free of charge - in France, both in Paris and the provinces, as well as in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Poland. Christian Dior salons on the Avenue Montaigne, Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières, Chaumet lounges at the Hôtel Baudard de Saint-James on the Place Vendôme and the Berluti made-to-measure footwear studio, will be open to the general public as on previous occasions. Meanwhile the Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, in Geneva, will be taking part in the Special Days for the first time.

Other sites opening their doors for the first time include the Guerlain production site in Chartres, Louis Vuitton workshops in Sainte-Florence in the Vendée, the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana operated by Fendi in Rome, the Loro Piana de Roccapietra spinning mill and laboratory in Italy, the Moynat workshop on the Rue de la Sourdière in Paris, and Fort Chabrol, the Moët & Chandon wine-growing school and research laboratory in Epernay. The Louis Vuitton Foundation, inaugurated in October 2014, will also be welcoming visitors in Paris.

The Special Days event is a unique initiative in France and Europe and reflects the determination of the LVMH group to pay homage to the artisanal excellence of its member companies. The success of the first two editions testifies to the public’s enthusiasm for this event, during which visitors will be able to discover workshops, wine and spirits storehouses, cellars, private hotels, family residences and historic boutiques. It is a heritage of inestimable value to France and all countries of Europe both in terms of economic prosperity and job creation, and the group lays great store by its preservation.

On the event’s website it is possible to subscribe to the Special Days newsletter , create a profile, and register for visits from 21 April.
