Association with the Swiss Alpine Club

They have decided to join forces to scale the highest peaks! Tissot and the Swiss Alpine Club (CAS) became partners on 1 January 2015.

Having fostered close ties with the Alpine world for many years, Tissot has already entered into many partnerships with Swiss Alpine tourism meccas such as the Hörnlihütte, refuge at the foot of the Matterhorn; on the 100th anniversary of the rack and pinion railway to the Jungfrau; with the Peak Walk Tissot to Glacier 3000, at the Diablerets; and again on the occasion of the festivities to mark the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn. The Alpine dimension is undoubtedly an integral part of the brand’s DNA.

Already benefiting from other partnerships, e.g. with Salewa an outdoor equipment supplier and Axpo, the power generator, the CAS has welcomed this new association. Especially as the new T-Touch Solar watch is highly appreciated by club members. A giant version of this model will also be on display in all the CAS mountain huts. But beyond the even greater visibility from which the two sides will benefit, this link-up embodies first and foremost a shared vision of the world with eyes resolutely fixed on the summits!

With more than 145,000 members, the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), founded in 1863, is the fourth largest sports association in Switzerland. The SAC works to promote mountain sports such as traditional mountaineering, but also more modern disciplines such as ice climbing and bouldering. Its 152 mountain refuges situated in the Swiss Alps are the jewel in the crown of the SAC. Moreover, the club is involved in mountain rescue activities in conjunction with Secours Alpin and Rega, and now works to protect the environment by actively supporting preservation of the Alpine space, while at the same time defending free access to climbers to these areas. In terms of figures, the SAC also represents 350,000 overnight stays a year, 50,000 books sold each year, as well as 9,500 accommodation options and 200 training courses per year.
