Watch and cigars

Dubai was chosen by Hublot as the launch pad for the second stage of its collaboration with cigar manufacturer Arturo Fuente.

At the beginning of December 2014, the watchmaker presented the ForbiddenX watch to an audience of connoisseurs in an ambiance featuring all the trappings of Cuba in the heart of the Middle East. The timepiece was given its name because the dial features leaves of the same tobacco used to produce the famous Santo Domingo cigar. Dispatched from the Fuente estate to Switzerland, the plants, rigidified and stabilised using epoxy resin, add a decorative touch to the timepieces.

These watches, produced in shades of brown, have a 45 mm diameter and a ceramic bezel, also in brown. Available in four models, they offer a combination of titanium, black ceramic, Hublot King Gold with 5% platinum, as well as a numbered version complete with a tourbillon movement showing the tobacco leaf on the dial. This version is limited to thirty pieces and offers a five-day power-reserve. All timepieces are supplied in a presentation case resembling a treasure chest, a veritable wooden humidor developed by Hublot which by regulating the humidity provides ideal storage conditions for cigars.
