Partner of Chaplin's World

For many years, Jaeger-LeCoultre has honoured the art of filmmaking and paid tribute to great directors. The company recently announced its partnership with the museum Chaplin's World, open to the public since 17 April, which retraces the final 25 years of the artist’s life.

When he settled in Switzerland the British actor was honoured by the Swiss government, which presented him with a Memovox watch engraved on the gold caseback with the following words: "Hommage du gouvernement vaudois à Charlie Chaplin - 6 octobre 1953". At the same time, he also received an Atmos clock from an association of Swiss press reporters and photographers. The institution paid tribute to the artist for the consideration he showed to the country’s journalists. These two items from Charlie Chaplin’s watchmaking heritage are exhibited at the Manoir de Ban, in Corsier-sur-Vevey. A Hollywood studio also provides an astonishing insight into the screen icon’s films. Transported to narrow streets and legendary screen sets, spectators can discover or rediscover the work of Charlie Chaplin.
