Victory for Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing

At the end of a 72,000 km odyssey, the boat «Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing» (ADOR) and British skipper Ian Walker, two-times Olympic silver medallist, won the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015 (VOR).

IWC, sponsor and official timekeeper of the race, celebrated ADOR’s victory at the finish in Göteborg (Sweden) and presented the «Speed Record Challenge des 24 heures d’IWC» award.

The regatta, which is regarded as the most difficult in the world, lasted nine months and crossed seven continents. It made stopovers in South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, China, New Zealand, Brazil, the United States, Portugal and France, before marking a final pause in the Netherlands.

As sponsor of the «Speed Record Challenge des 24 heures d’IWC», the manufacture presented all ADOR crew members with a Portugieser Yacht Club Chronographe «Ocean Racer» watch. By covering 550.8 nautical miles in 24 hours, the victorious crew beat all records during the event.
