Return to Antikythera

It is an archaeological adventure that sets the pulse racing. In 1901, the treasure of Antikythera was discovered in Greek waters. It revealed the remains of what is probably mankind’s oldest «astronomical computer». Will today’s technologies reveal more of its secrets? The scientific expedition led by Brendan Foley (diver-archaeologist) has returned to the site of the wreck, off the island of Antikythera, for a second historic underwater search. This time with one big advantage, the Exosuit diving system, a veritable «underwater armour»developed in the United States (cost 1.3 million dollars) displaying the colours of Hublot. Offering a level of protection similar to that of a small submarine, theExosuit allows divers to descend to depths of up to 1000 feet and remain under water for many hours.

Mathias Buttet, the R&D director of Hublot, travelled out to be present at the dives. He presented the Oceanographic EXO4000, an extreme diver’s watch unveiled in the spring of 2012 paying tribute to the scientists involved in this adventure, which the Nyon brand has supported since 2011.
