In Shanghai, the watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds celebrated its partnership with the Los Angeles Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the first museum of its kind dedicated entirely to the history and latest developments of the 7th art. This special event, dubbed Mechanics of Dreams, revealed images and films from the Academy archives and presented this museum project for the first time in China.
In the multimedia spaces, guests discovered photographs and videos depicting the most famous Hollywood stars in their daily life, family circle or on stage sets for their films. The latest architects’ models of the Academy Museum were also exhibited showing the final project before the inauguration scheduled for 2017. Designed by architects Renzo Piano and Zoltan Pali, the building will comprise nearly 30,000 m² of galleries, exhibition halls, cinemas, projection rooms, training centres and event spaces.
