To host VIP members of the Omega Club on the occasion of the Olympic Games, the Bienne-based brand took up its quarters in a building which is highly acclaimed in artistic and intellectual circles of Rio, the Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim.
With its rich history and bohemian culture, the interior of this building has been completely remodelled to enable visitors to relax in a wonderful setting. The unforgettable views which it afforded over one of world’s most famous beaches - Ipanema - were an invitation to escape from daily routine.
Throughout the Olympic Games, each room paid tribute to the sporting events and to the many chapters in the brand’s history. A special space was set aside here for women. The twelve social projects supported by Omega were also present.
Throughout the Olympics, the firm from Bienne held many evening events here and welcomed a number of prominent figures, both VIP guests and athletes. On 9 August, the Omega House was flooded with red light on the occasion of an event specially dedicated to Switzerland - «Olá Switzerland!» Flowers and other emblematic motifs of Swiss tradition immersed the guests in a patriotic atmosphere. Bastian Baker, a talented young Swiss musician, assured the success of this evening. On previous days, «Gold Night» welcomed Alessandra Ambrosio as the guest of honour while Sergio Garcia, the Omega ambassador, proved a hit at the Golf Ball.
