News Breguet has unveiled an exclusive partnership with the Château of Versailles.
Following the restoration of the Petit Trianon, a domain situated on the site of this historic monument, the famous watch manufacturer is to support the exhibition entitled «Marie-Antoinette, a Queen in Versailles». Dedicated entirely to the last queen of France, this event will be held from 25 October 2016 to 26 February 2017 at the famous Mori Arts Gallery Center in Tokyo.
In order to create exceptional pieces, the maker regularly draws its inspiration from the universe of this queen who was a loyal customer of Abraham-Louis Breguet. A veritable concentrate of different complications, pocket watch No 1160 is a faithful replica of the timepiece ordered in 1783. Inaugurated in 2009, the «Queen’s rose» fine jewellery line is derived directly from the painting «Marie-Antoinette with a rose» by the portraitist Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun. The «Queen’s flounces» collection for its part pays tribute to the pleated silks and lace of the dresses worn by the sovereign.
