The Barry Foundation has its own timepiece

In collaboration with the Barry Foundation, Bomberg has officially launched the BOLT-68 Automatique Barry watch featuring the legendary Saint Bernard dog. To seal the partnership, an event was organised on 23 June at the Martigny hospice.

The gathering took place at the Barry Foundation in the presence of Rick de la Croix, the founder of Bomberg, Léonard Gianadda, from the Foundation of the same name, and Jean-Maurice Tornay, president of the Barry Foundation. Guests also had the pleasure of being joined by some adorable young puppies.

The event was above all an opportunity to discover the Bolt-68 Automatique Barry watch, a timepiece that pays tribute to these most helpful rescue dogs. The timepiece has a black PVD-treated steel case housing a self-winding movement. A large Saint Bernard head complete with traditional barrel adorns the dial, while the black leather strap is decorated with a quintessentially Swiss edelweiss flower. Like every model in the collection, the BOLT-68 Barry incorporates an ingenious bayonet system, which here features a chain fitted with small barrels and a medallion adorned with the head of a Saint Bernard.

In 2005 the Barry Foundation took over the kennel which breeds the famous rescue dogs, named after the mountain pass, which until then had been run by monks. It has since been the owner of the world’s oldest provider of this Swiss breed. The Barry Foundation is named after Barry, the legendary mountain rescue dog. Its role is to continue the three-hundred-year-old practice of breeding Saint Bernard dogs in their place of origin and to preserve this particular breed at the hospice.
