2016 Grand Prix Historique of Monaco

Organised by the Automobile Club de Monaco, this sporting event brought more than 30,000 spectators and 500 journalists to the legendary Monte Carlo circuit. Every two years since 1997, vintage racing cars dating from the pre-war period to the 1970s participate in the competition. Karl Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of the watch manufacturer, was present alongside brand ambassadors Romain Dumas and Jacky Ickx.

Chopard, the event’s sponsor and official timekeeper since 2002, presented two new models inspired by vintage cars and certified as chronometers by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres). The models comprise 500 chronographs in titanium and steel, and 100 in 18-carat rose gold.
