Evolution of Eterna Movement's calibre 39

At Baselworld, Eterna Movement unveiled new developments of its legendary calibre 39. This particularly versatile movement is now available in more than 88 different versions thanks to an innovative design method.

This year, models with a classic moon-phase display have been added to the existing range. They can be equipped with an automatic or self-winding system, and combine the moon phase display with a central second display, a small second counter at 9 o’clock, or a date at 3 o’clock. Like all versions of this family of movements, the new calibres stand out by their extremely high accuracy qualifying them as chronometers, and by a guaranteed above-average power-reserve.

Modern, classic or stylised, new skeletonized interpretations for their part allow owners to admire the internal mechanism, gear-trains and springs, as well as the transmission of force between the barrel and the balance.

To enhance its expertise, the Soleure based company also collaborates with different schools of watchmaking in Switzerland and the United States. Young professionals will thus have a chance to improve their skills on the calibre 39.
