Jaeger-LeCoultre pays tribute to René Magritte

In partnership with De Greef, the oldest jewellery and watchmaking brand in Belgium, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a new Reverso series motivated by the desire to pay homage to the world of art.

Able to accommodate the miniature reproduction of a work of art, this watch is decorated with the famous painting «The Treachery of Images» by the Belgian artist René Magritte. Depicting a pipe in realistic detail below which are the words «Ceci n’est pas une pipe» (This is not a pipe), the lacquered engraving is presented on the caseback.

Taken from a series of three different versions all devoted to Magritte, this first interpretation gives pride of place to the surrealist painter’s work. With its five watches in white gold and fifteen in steel, it is inspired directly by the first Reverso, unveiled in 1931.
