At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas from 6 to 9 January, Carl F. Bucherer unveiled a new development in collaboration with the car designer Rinspeed.
The two partners presented the Zurich firm’s latest concept-car, called «∑tos».
Each vehicle in this series is fitted with a model in black of the Patravi TravelTec which occupies a central position on the dashboard. Featuring a diamond-like-carbon (DLC) coating, this chronograph is equipped with the proprietary CFB 1901.1 COSC-certified calibre. To wind the automatic calibre, the bracket on which the watch is mounted oscillates from right to left at regular intervals. In addition, the energy produced by the car when in motion also powers the black Patravi TravelTec. If the driver receives a telephone call, the camera beside the bracket pivots in his or her direction. Readouts of the three time-zones are then displayed in digital format on the driver’s screens and are clearly legible in all situations.
