Satisfactory first five months of the year

In the first five months of its non-calendar financial year 2015/2016, the group reported higher sales figures. By comparison with the same period last year, sales advanced by 16% in Euros and 4% in local currency terms.

These figures were boosted in particular by sales in Europe (+26%) and Japan (+48%). On the other hand, the Asia-Pacific region reported an 18% fall in local currency terms. In addition, the sales figures for the Middle East, Africa and Americas regions gained 2% respectively.

The jewellery houses (Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Giampiero Bodino) increased their sales by 6% in local currency terms and 20% at real exchange rates. The watch brands (A. Lange & Söhne, Baume & Mercier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Officine Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin and Ralph Lauren Watch) remained flat with a 1% downturn in sales at constant exchange rates (+10% at current exchange rates) because of low demand in the Asia/Pacific region.

The other brands (Alfred Dunhill, Chloé, Lancel, Montblanc and Peter Millar) reported 7% sales growth in local currency terms (+19% at current exchange rates).
