Lake Tahoe Concours d'élégance

As a tribute to its partnership with the Riva Historical Society, Frédérique Constant celebrates each year the legendary Runabout pleasure craft, an icon of the 1920s.

On 7 and 8 August, the Genevan firm was the official sponsor for the 5th year in a row of the 43rd Lake Tahoe Concours d'élégance event. The lake lies at an altitude of 1,897 metres between the States of California and Nevada (USA).

Bringing together a great many collectors, this luxurious exhibition of wooden motorboats provided an opportunity to admire a hundred or so old and traditional vessels. Beautifully restored with their hand-polished wooden hulls, the boats slipped gracefully across the crystalline lake waters to the delight of the 5,000 or so spectators.

For this 2015 edition the brand had presented a new collection entitled "Runabout Automatic Moon Phase", each model limited to 2,888 copies and supplied in a presentation case containing a miniature replica of a wooden boat.
