With beginners and experts among their number, 1,600 enthusiasts have signed up for the «Haute Route» cycling race, considered the most difficult event in the world of amateur cycling.
Participants need to push themselves to their physical and mental limits and also experiment, in a true test of «racing like a pro».
TAG Heuer, the official partner of the «Haute Route», provides timekeeping solutions for this event which pits riders against some of Europe’s most emblematic mountain passes in the Alps, the Pyrenees, and the Dolomites.
From 15 August and until 8 September 2015, 1,600 cyclists from more than 50 nations are taking part in races in all three locations.
Each of the three stages lasts seven days and includes between 800 and 900 kilometres of road racing giving rise to classification. The total difference in altitude is around 20,000 metres. Professional backup, including medical teams, mechanical assistance, race safety and masseurs, is available to participants.
