Hermès in robust growth in the first half

Consolidated turnover of the French luxury industry group stood at 2.29 billion Euros in the first half of 2015, an increase of 21% at current exchange rates. In the second quarter, growth was sustained: +22% at current exchange rates and +10% at constant rates.

Japan reported an excellent performance (+20%) thanks to its selective distribution network. Asia (excluding Japan) remains dynamic, despite the difficult context in Hong Kong and Macao (+7%). America has confirmed its development potential (+10%), while Europe has also posted a strong performance (+7%).

Growth of Leather Goods-Saddlery is remarkable (+14%). Its development has been boosted by higher production capacities, in particular with the inauguration of two sites in Charente and Isère last June. The Garments and Accessories Division (+8%) has benefited from the success of the latest collections. The Silk and Textiles activity (+5%) is growing in a more difficult environment in Greater China. Fragrances, which had benefited in the first half of 2014 from launches of Jour d’Hermès Absolu and Terre d’Hermès Eau Très Fraîche, gained 4%. Watchmaking for its part is down slightly (-1%). Presented at Baselworld this year, the new Slim collection by Hermès was, however, well received. The other activities of Hermès (+12%), which include Jewellery, the Art of Living and Table Arts, continue to grow.
