Consolidated turnover of the French luxury industry group stood at 2.29 billion Euros in the first half of 2015, an increase of 21% at current exchange rates. In the second quarter, growth was sustained: +22% at current exchange rates and +10% at constant rates.
Japan reported an excellent performance (+20%) thanks to its selective distribution network. Asia (excluding Japan) remains dynamic, despite the difficult context in Hong Kong and Macao (+7%). America has confirmed its development potential (+10%), while Europe has also posted a strong performance (+7%).
Growth of Leather Goods-Saddlery is remarkable (+14%). Its development has been boosted by higher production capacities, in particular with the inauguration of two sites in Charente and Isère last June. The Garments and Accessories Division (+8%) has benefited from the success of the latest collections. The Silk and Textiles activity (+5%) is growing in a more difficult environment in Greater China. Fragrances, which had benefited in the first half of 2014 from launches of Jour d’Hermès Absolu and Terre d’Hermès Eau Très Fraîche, gained 4%. Watchmaking for its part is down slightly (-1%). Presented at Baselworld this year, the new Slim collection by Hermès was, however, well received. The other activities of Hermès (+12%), which include Jewellery, the Art of Living and Table Arts, continue to grow.
