Concorso d'Eleganza Pininfarina with Bovet 1822

The Concorso d’Eleganza Pininfarina took place on 13 June this year in the setting of the Château du Valentino in Turin. On this occasion, Pininfarina opted to team up with the watch manufacture.

The firm’s CEO Paolo Pininfarina and Bovet 1822 invited collectors from around the world to exhibit their vintage cars. To award prizes in the competition’s different categories, a jury of design experts was convened and chaired by the owner of Bovet 1822, Pascal Raffy. At the end of the day it was Gino Coen with his wonderful 1947 Cisitalia 202 who won the highly coveted «Bovet Award for the Most Elegant Car». It is without doubt one of the most beautiful car bodies ever to have graced motoring history. And what’s more it is the only car to be exhibited at the MOMA in New York and to be regarded as a contemporary work of art.

In addition to the vintage cars on show, enthusiasts of elegance and mechanical dexterity were able to discover the five timepieces which to date form the Bovet by Pininfarina collection. The three tourbillons and two chronographs illustrate the shared vision of the two firms, their respect for tradition, and their determination to express the passage of time in their own unique way.
