77th edition of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud

On 13 June this year, Hublot made an appearance for the third consecutive year at the Bol d’Or Mirabaud.

One of the region’s top flight events, the world’s most important inland lake regatta connected both ends of Lake Geneva, from the city itself to Le Bouveret. Covering a distance of 123 kilometres, with 500 boats and 2,500 crew members in the starting line-up, the nautical competition attracted both professionals and yachting enthusiasts.

Gentle breezes at the start of the race were followed by stormy weather at its conclusion. In the ensuing squall, at nearly 25 knots (around 47 km/h) the boat best able to take advantage of the difficult conditions was the D35 Tilt. A race requiring not only sustained concentration, but also tactical skill in seeking out the slightest breeze and second-guessing flurries of wind, brought out the best in all crews.

To coincide with this 77th edition, Hublot created a limited edition of 77 numbered timepieces. This year’s new addition is a sports-chic version of the Classic Fusion Chronograph, with carbon fibre dial, bezel and bracelet. This hi-tech material, light and shock-resistant, is especially popular with sportsmen and women.
