Les Ateliers Louis Moinet are 10 years old

In the space of ten years, the progress made by this independent company has defeated all the pessimistic forecasts, beginning with the revelation in 2013 of its identity as the inventor of the chronograph with a piece dating back to 1816. That even led to the rewriting of a story which had been thought firmly established.

With one hundred or so timepieces manufactured each year, all of them numbered and produced in limited editions or even in one-off pieces, Les Ateliers, established at Saint-Blaise (Neuchâtel), achieve an exceptionally high standard with their bold and innovative creations which ally creativity and the distinctive watchmaking art of this brand. From the «dew drop» hands to the bold «Côtes du Jura» dials, to say nothing of the typical Louis Moinet case incorporating a manufacturing patent, the finished timepiece features a strong personality as a result of which the brand has been able to gain the confidence of connoisseurs of fine watchmaking and that of professionals in the sector. The latter have paid tribute to the excellence of the company through many distinctions, in particular five Red Dot Awards, including the Best of the Best, an extremely rare tribute paid to watchmaking design.

More recently, on 8 July last, Louis Moinet won the merit prize for development of the watchmaking arts and technologies awarded by the International Institute for Promotion and Prestige (IIPP) in cooperation with UNESCO. Finally, a significant prize won at the International Chronometry Competition in 2013 and many other awards must not go unmentioned. Celebrating two centuries since the invention of the chronograph by Louis Moinet, 2016 will be a pivotal year. The Ateliers have all kinds of projects which are still being jealously guarded from the public eye.
