San Sebastiàn Film Festival

From 19 to 27 September this year, Jaeger-LeCoultre appeared for the third time at the San Sebastiàn Film Festival, acknowledged as the most important event of its kind in Spain. This 62nd edition screened a selection of the best films from around the world in competition for the Golden Shell and indeed the Festival’s other official awards. One of the many stars present was Antonio Banderas who attended the première of his science-fiction film Automatica, which focuses on the concept of the technological singularity, i.e. the time when machines become more intelligent than people.

At the event, Jaeger-LeCoultre reaffirmed its support for the Aladina Foundation, a not-for-profit private organisation set up in 2005 by Paco Arango to help children suffering from cancer, and their families. Each year this institution provides psychological or material support to more than 1,200 children. Last year, thanks to the «Reverso for a smile» programme, the Le Sentier brand financed a trip to Ireland for around fifty youngsters. This year, a photographic exhibition entitled «Time to Smile» was held in the brand’s lounge at the Maria Cristina Hotel. The aim of this project was to invite people to vote for their favourite photo. For each vote cast, Jaeger-LeCoultre donated one Euro to the Aladina Foundation.
