Relive the legend with the Mikael Carlson Blériot XI

The Blériot XI, the archetypal single-engine aircraft of the early days of aviation, made an appearance at the AIR14 air show in Payerne (Switzerland) on Saturday 6 September. The aircraft, the «Mikael Carlson Blériot XI», took to the skies with its new pilot Mikael Carlson at the controls to the delight of around 110,000 spectators.

It brought to life the glory years of its first pilot, Louis Blériot, whose exploits - partnered by the Zenith watch - included the first crossing of the English Channel on 25 July 1909 when Blériot reached England in 37 minutes.
